Who is eligible?

All faculty, staff and students of Missouri S&T are eligible to submit suggestions  in the Administrative Services Suggestion Program, except for current members of the Suggestion Committee.

Which suggestions qualify?

Suggestions must be within the scope of one of the Administrative Services departments and must meet at least one of the following criteria:

º   Enhance delivery of services

º   Improve systems/procedures

º   Promote safety and/or accident prevention

º   Conserve supplies/materials

º   Cost containment

º   Elimination of unnecessary workload

º   Conserve Energy

NOTE:  Suggestion is not eligible if within employee's own work area UNLESS it pertains to safety or results in substantial improvement in efficiency or productivity. Professional/Administrative exempt employees with supervisory responsibilities are not eligible for an award for these types of suggestions if within their own area.

What Happens to your Suggestion?

º   Suggestions can be mailed to Administrative Services 210 Parker Hall, e-mailed to adminsrv@mst.edu or submitted electronically on the   Suggestion Form. They will be assigned a number and dated.

º   The suggestion will be forwarded to appropriate director for review and possible implementation.

º   If suggestion is feasible and deemed to be a good idea, the funds to implement it will be determined by the department head or Vice Chancellor for Administrative Services.

º   Suggestion Program Secretary will maintain a log and advise suggestor of suggestion status.

Awards for Implemented Suggestions

 º  Implemented suggestions will be reviewed and evaluated by a committee with regards to the eligibility criteria (stated above). Those suggestions that conserve supplies/materials, contain costs, conserve energy, and eliminate unnecessary workload will carry more weight during the evaluation process.  A recognition award will be presented on a yearly basis to the person(s) whose suggestion resulted in the largest actual monetary savings or gain to the University.
